Pierce Brosnan was born in 1953 on 16th May to Thomas Brosnan and May. He was their only child. His birthplace was Drogheda, County Louth, but he lived for 12 years in Navan, County Meath. Thomas who was a carpenter abandoned them when Neil was an infant. After his mother left for London to be a nurse, he was left under the care of his grandparents. They were Philip and Kathleen Smith.

He reunited with his mother in 1964 on 12th August. She had remarried to William Carmichael. He schooled at Elliott School presently known as Putney Academy. Later, he joined Saint Martin’s School of Art. Brosnan studies acting at the Drama Centre for three years.

Shortly after leaving drama school, he met Cassandra Harris. She is an Australian actress. The two met through one of Richard Harris’s nephew. His name was David Harris, and he was the stepson of Casandra. They got married in 1980 on 27th December.

The couple welcomed their son together in 1983 on 13th September. After Dermot Harris died in 1986, the two started living with her other two children Chris and Charlotte. Brosnan adopted the kids who consequently took his surname.

His wife was diagnosed with ovarian cancer after she got very sick in 1987. She died in 1991 on 28th December at the age of 43.
